Jendrisek & Nemec Fail to Wrap up Early Qualification
With one round of group stage qualifiers still to go, Slovakia has failed to wrap up the group win in the penultimate match as Erik Jendrisek, Adam Nemec & Co lost 0-2 against Slovenia. However, Slovakia still has the chance to seal its place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in their match against Poland on Wednesday, October 14, 2009.

While Jendrisek replaced Robert Vittek on 80 minutes, Nemec did not pull on the Slovakian shirt in Bratislava on Saturday. Slovakia remains at the top of Group 3, two points ahead of second-placed Slovenia. Slovenia will face San Marino in its last qualifying fixture.
FCK players Dario Damjanovic and Georges Mandjeck can still make it to South Africa as well. Due to their 2-0 triumph away to Estonia, Damjanovic and Bosnia Herzegovina won the runners-up spot in Group 5 behind runaway winners Spain. In addition to the directly qualified group winners, the eight runners-up will meet in play-offs to determine four further contenders. Damjanovic, who did not enter the field of play in Estonia, will meet Spain in the last but irrelevant qualifying game on Wednesday.
In the African World Cup qualifying, Cameroon met Togo on Saturday, October 10, 2009. It was the first time for FCK defender Mandjeck to pull on national colors for his mother country. As Cameroon defeated Togo 3-0, Mandjeck and his team-mates are at the top of Group A, one point ahead of second-placed Gabon. The decisive game will take place on November 14, 2009, when Cameroon will face Morocco. On Wednesday, Mandjeck & Co will travel to Portugal for a friendly against Angola.
