German U-21 Held 1-1 by Northern Ireland
FCK players Tobias Sippel and Sidney Sam had to be content with a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland after Oliver Norwood's dramatic free-kick equalizer deep into added time earned Northern Ireland an unlikely point on Friday, November 13, 2009.

Both teams were eager for victories to strengthen their bids in 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group E. Both FCK players were part of the starting eleven in Belfast. Sam was replaced by Andre Schürrle after 86 minutes. Not until 60 seconds from time, substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting finished with ease from close range. However, Oliver Norwood scored the leveler three minutes in stoppage time (90 + 3).
It was Sippel’s seventh appearance for Germany at Under-21 level. Sidney Sam has made four appearances so far. Adrion’s team will face San Marino on November 17, 2009 fighting for vital qualifying points.
