ANC – Cameroon Back on Track Again!
A second-half fightback saw Cameroon save their African Cup of Nations campaign with a 3-2 (0-1) win over Zambia on Sunday, January 17, 2010. The result moved Cameroon to second place in group D behind group leaders Gabon, who have four points.

Jacob Mulenga took advantage of sloppy work by Rigobert Song, Cameroon’s shot-stopper, to give Zambia an early eighth-minute lead.
Cameroon made two half-time changes but their equalizer came after a significant goalkeeping error from Kennedy Mweene, who allowed Geremi's cross to slip under his body in the 68th minute. Four minutes later, Samuel Eto'o extended his tournament scoring record to 17 goals with an opportunist effort after an attempted clearance ricocheted off him and he was quickest to the loose ball.
Zambia was awarded a penalty kick ten minutes from time and Chris Katongo converted the kick. However, five minutes later sub Idrissou rose above the Zambia defense to head home another probing cross from Geremi. FCK player Georges Mandjeck did not pull on international colors.
The four-time champions Cameroon now are second in their group on three points, one point behind group leaders Gabon. The Tunisian national team is on two points and Zambia on one. All four teams are in the race for the quarter-finals, which will be decided on Thursday.
