Alexander Bugera has signed a two-year contract extension with 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The contract will keep Bugi at the club until June 2012 and it contains a renewal option for a further year.
The 31-year-old left back, who has joined the Red Devils in 2007, made 175 second division appearances for FCK and scored 17 goals. Bugera has made 58 first division appearances for MSV Duisburg and FC Bayer Munich (3 goals). He has played six times for the German Under-21 national team and scored twice.
“My family and I feel very convenient at FCK and in this region. It feels so good to be part of this team and community and I want to assist in bringing forward FCK,” Bugera comments on the deal. „
Stefan Kuntz, chairman of the FCK board of management, is happy about the contract extension. “Alex Bugera is one of our leading players and has become an inherent part of the team after returning from his long injury lay-off. Not only Bugera himself, but his whole family identify with the club and its objectives in an exemplary manner. It is a very important signal that we can count on him in the future.”
