Hoffer Scores for Austria
Erwin "Jimmy" Hoffer and the Austrian national team as well as Leon Jesson and the Danish national team are off to a flying start in qualifying for Euro 2012 with maximum points from their first matches. FCK striker Hoffer scored for his country securing Austria’s 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan. Elsewhere, Chadli Amri and the Algerian national team drew 1-1 with Tanzania in their African Cup of Nations 2012 qualifying clash while Kevin Trapp and the Germany Under-21 national team chalked up a 3-0 victory over Northern Ireland.

Rainer Adrion’s U-21 side defeated Northern Ireland 3-0 in Ingolstadt on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 as a brace by Lewis Holtby and a goal by Patrick Hermann secured the well earned victory. FCK goalkeeper Kevin Trapp kept his slate clean in Germany’s goal as he played the complete game.
Austria chalked up a 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan and won maximum points in their first Euro 2012 qualifying game. It was a last-gasp victory as both goals arrived in stoppage time. Roland Linz opened the scoring after 91 minutes, before FCK new signing Erwin Hoffer added the second two minutes into stoppage time.
Elsewhere, Leon Jesson and the Danish national team faced Iceland in their first Euro 2012 qualifying game as Morten Olsen’s side snatched a last-minute win thanks to a late goal by VfL Wolfsburg’s Thomas Kahlenberg (90). Leon Jessen went the full distance.
Following their tough 0-4 defeat against England, Ilian Micanskis and the Bulgarian national team faced Montenegro in their second Euro 2012 qualifying match on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Montenegro’s Elsad Zverotic scored the only goal of the match on 35 minutes as Bulgaria did not manage to pull one back. It was Bulgaria’s second successive defeat in the competition and coach Stanimir Stoilov announced his resignation after the match.
Already on Friday, September 3, 2010, Chadli Amri and the Algerian national team took on Tanzania in an African Cup of Nations Group D qualifying game. Amri entered the pitch after 70 minutes as Algeria drew 1-1 with Tanzania in Blida (Algeria). Idrisa Rajabu put Tanzania in the lead on 32 minutes, before Adlene Guedioura equalized on the stroke of half-time.
