Martin Amedick Commits Future to Kaiserslautern

FCK defender Martin Amedick has signed a new, extended contract that will keep him at 1. FC Kaiserslautern until June 2014.

Signed contract extension until 2014

FCK team captain Martin Amedick has extended his stay at 1. FC Kaiserslautern by three years until the summer of 2014. The new contract is valid for Bundesliga first and second division and contains an option for a further year’s extension until 2015.

"I feel very comfortable and at home at FCK, for me everything fits here. Therefore, it was an easy decision for me. We have started a new project here this season. Together we want to re-establish FCK in the top flight again. Moreover, I want to make a statement since I am absolutely convinced that the club and the team have the potential to stay in the league – even if the latest results do not reflect that," Martin Amedick commented on the contract extension.

"I am very delighted that we have come to this agreement with Martin. It is the right and very important step for both sides. Martin is a person and player with whom our fans can easily identify. It is extremely important for a club to have someone like Martin, a great player and a great person," FCK head coach Marco Kurz stated.

To date Martin Amedick, who was born in Paderborn, has made 42 Bundesliga appearances and scored two goals. The 28-year-old has been a part of 93 second division games and scored nine goals. Amedick, who joined FCK from Borussia Dortmund in July 2008, has made 73 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring eight goals.
