Together with the U.S. Men’s National Team the 25-year-old FCK goalkeeper has taken part in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa (June 14-28) as well as in the CONCACAF GOLD CUP which has started on July 10, 2009. Even if the CONCACAF GOLD CUP, that is currently taking place in the United States, is not over yet, Luis Robles has decided to return to Kaiserslautern and to join the Red Devils to prepare for the forthcoming start of the new season. On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, Robles will join the team training again.
Luis Robles has received his first cap in the last match of the preliminary round against Haiti. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, and the 25-year-old demonstrated a strong performance. Meanwhile, the U.S. Men have advanced to the semifinals of the CONCACAF GOLD CUP after their 2-1 victory against Panama. The game will take place on Friday, July 24, 2009 (kick-off time will be at 2.00 am WEDT).
