Red Devils on International Duty
Several FCK players have been called up to their national teams to represent their respective countries in international games.
Austria national team coach Dietmar Constantini has named Erwin “Jimmy” Hoffer for the international matches against Germany and Latvia. Austria faces Germany in an European Championship 2012 qualifying game in Vienna on Friday, June 3, 2011, with the match kicking off at 8:30 p.m. CET. Four days later, Hoffer and his team-mates take on Latvia in a friendly game in Graz on Tuesday, June 7, 2011.
FCK striker Adam Nemec has been called up for international duty with the Slovakian national team. Slovakia faces Andorra in a EURO 2012 qualifier in Bratislava on Saturday, June 4, 2011.
FCK goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has been selected for international duty with the German Under-21 national team. The team of national coach Rainer Adrion meets Portugal in an international friendly game in Portimao on Tuesday, May 31, (kick-off 6:15 p.m. CET). The European Under-21 Championship 2013 qualifying round begins in August 2011.
FCK players Jan Moravek and Adam Hloušek have been selected for the Czech Republic Under-21 squad for this summer’s European Under-21 Championship finals in Denmark. The finals take place from June 11 through June 26, 2011. Jakub Dovalil’s team faces Ukraine, Spain and England.
FCK defender Thanos Petsos has been called up to the Greek Under-21 national team for friendly games against Bulgaria and Poland. Thanos and his fellow countrymen meet Bulgaria in Serres on Thursday, June 2, before they take on Poland in Radomsko on Monday, June 6, 2011.
Ivo Ilicevic and Srdjan Lakic have withdrawn from the Croatian national team and will play no part in Croatia’s upcoming international game against Georgia. While Ivo Ilicevic has not fully recovered from his abdominal muscle injury yet, forward Srdjan Lakic picked up an adductor injury in the Red Devils’ last game of the season against Werder Bremen.
