FCK Striker Adam Nemec out for up to Three Months
Bundesliga outfit 1. FC Kaiserslautern has been hit by bad news ahead of the start of the 2011/12 season. FCK striker Adam Nemec will be out for up to three months after suffering a severe fall from a cherry tree in his garden on Monday evening.
The 25-year-old fractured two thoracic vertebrae, broke his collarbone and was also concussed in the accident. He will undergo surgery for the collarbone injury at the Westpfalz University Hospital.
If the damage heals without complications, Adam Nemec should be able to rejoin team training in approximately three months, FCK’s medical department estimates.
Nemec has made 24 Bundesliga first division appearances for FCK last season and scored three goals. The tall striker racked up a total of 62 second division appearances (15 goals) for the Red Devils and Erzgebirge Aue. Moreover, he has represented his home country Slovakia in one international game so far. Nemec joined 1. FC Kaiserslautern from Belgium's KRC Genk in the summer of 2009.
