FCK Players away on National Team Duty
Five FCK players have been called up to their respective national teams for international games. Itay Shechter, Thanos Petsos, Ivo Ilicevic, Kostas Fortounis and Kevin Trapp will be away from the Betzenberg to represent their countries on the international stage.
Itay Shechter will go head-to-head with two of his Kaiserslautern team-mates as Israel faces Greece and Croatia in European Championship qualifying games. Israel takes on Greece in Tel Aviv on September 2, before facing Croatia in Zagreb on September 6.
After going head-to-head with Israel, Thanos Petsos and the Greek senior national team travel to Riga where they face Lithuania on September 6.
Ivo Ilicevic will be looking to earn his fifth cap for his country when Croatia faces Malta on September 2.
Kostas Fortounis has been called up to the Greek Under-21 national team. The 18-year-old FCK player will represent his country in an Under-21 European Championship qualifying game against Cyprus on September 2. Three days later Fortounis and his team-mates take on Austria in a friendly game.
FCK goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and the German Under-21 squad go head-to-head with San Marino in Paderborn in a European Championship qualifying game on September 1. Trapp and his team meet Belarus in Borissow on September 6.
All players will return to the Betzenberg on Wednesday, September 7, and Thursday, September 8.
