The 23-year-old right winger will join the Red Devils at the start of January 2010. Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Kaiserslautern have reached a loan agreement from January until June 2010 without a purchase option for Steinhöfer.
Markus Steinhöfer has made 37 Bundesliga first division appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt and scored three goals. The Germany Under-21 national player has been representing his home country since his first call-up to the Germany Under-16 national team. He played for the youth teams of FC Bayern München before he joined the Red Bulls Salzburg and won the Austrian national championship.
“Markus Steinhöfer is a young professional player who has made 40 appearances in the Bundesliga first division and he has won the Austrian league title with RB Salzburg. He will be a real asset to the team,” Stefan Kuntz, chairman of the FCK board of management, commented on the deal.
