Pierre de Wit Faces Long Lay-Off
FCK midfielder Pierre de Wit has been ruled out for the rest of the current season after rupturing his cruciate ligament. The 22-year-old suffered the injury in Monday’s game against Alemannia Aachen.
Pierre de Wit will undergo surgery in Cologne as soon as the swelling has subsided. FCK team doctor Uli Schmieden expects this to happen within a week’s time.
After having already torn a cruciate ligament in August 2007 and May 2009, it is the third rupture of a cruciate ligament in the career of FCK’s winter signing Pierre de Wit.
Up to now, Pierre de Wit has made three appearances for the Red Devils. He has been a part of 50 second division games and scored five goals. He has played four times for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga first division.
