Four-Year Contract for Simunek
Jan Simunek has signed a four-year contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The Czech will be joining FCK from VfL Wolfsburg. Both parties agreed to keep the terms of the deal confidential. The 23-year-old defender has been taking part in the Red Devils’ training sessions since Monday, June 28, 2010 already.

Jan Simunek
Simunek, who has been capped four times for his home country Czech Republic, has made 52 Bundesliga first division appearances for VfL Wolfsburg and picked up one Bundesliga title with the side from Lower Saxony.
“I am truly happy to be here now. My compatriot Jiri Bilek and I have talked a lot and I was very confident after the conversations with Marco Kurz and Stefan Kuntz. I am going to give everything for the club to make sure that FCK will be re-established in the Bundesliga first division again,” Jan Simunek commented on the deal.
“Notwithstanding his age, Jan Simunek is an experienced player who has played at a very high level with Wolfsburg. He will be a real asset to the club and he will add plenty of quality to our team. In addition to that, he perfectly fits into the team,” FCK head coach Marco Kurz said happily.
