"Make an Honorable Exit from the Bundesliga!"
In the build-up to the Red Devils' final home game of the 2011/12 season, FCK head coach Krassimir Balakov talked about his side's previous games and the forthcoming encounter with newly-crowned German champions Borussia Dortmund.

Krassimir Balakov
Krassimir Balakov, your team finally snapped the winless streak by beating Hertha BSC. Are you relieved?
In fact, I am relieved. The success was very important for the team, the fans, the entire club, and for me. On the one hand, I am glad we played well and won the game. On the other hand, I am deeply sad and disappointed that our fate has been sealed and that we will not be playing in Germany’s top flight next season. It’s really bitter, because if we had won one of our previous games, things would be different now, and – except for the game against Nuremberg - we could have won every game.
What went wrong in the game against Nuremberg?
We delivered a poor performance and I am sorry for our loyal fans. We wanted to reward them for their great support, but it was the same sad scenario as before. We started well, but we conceded an early goal and were unable to get a foothold in the game afterwards. The players lacked pride and rage. We talked about it after the game and I think they understood my message.
FCK hosts German champions Dortmund at the Betzenberg in the last home game of the season. What are you expecting from the game?
I think we will all feel a little melancholy, but we want to make an honorable and respectful exit from the Bundesliga. We want to say goodbye to the Bundesliga with dignity, and we will do our utmost to achieve our aim of making an immediate return to the top flight next season.
