Fortounis at the 2012 European Championship
On June 8, 2012, the quadrennial European Soccer Championship will kick off in Poland, captivating audiences around the world for three weeks until July 1, 2012. FCK midfielder Kostas Fortounis has been included in Greece’s final 23-man squad and will represent his home country Greece at the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
Following a pre-tournament training camp in Athens, the Greek national team traveled to Poland. Fernando Santos’ men face co-hosts Poland, Russia, and the Czech Republic in Group A. Their first group fixture is the opening game against Poland in Warsaw on June 8, 2012 (kick-off 6 p.m.).
Kostas Fortounis, who had been called up to the senior national team for the first time in February 2012, has won three caps for his country to date.
