Marco Kurz Signs Contract Extension with FCK
Bundesliga outfit 1. FC Kaiserslautern and head coach Marco Kurz have agreed to terms of an early contract extension until after the 2012/13 season.
Marco Kurz, head coach of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, has signed a one-year contract extension which ties him to the role until June 30, 2013.
Kurz's current deal was due to expire at the end of June 2012 but the club’s executives were keen for the matter to be resolved as soon as possible.
Stefan Kuntz, chairman of the FCK Management board: "We have one of the best coaches in the league and we want to continue along this path with Marco Kurz. With Marco Kurz at the helm we gained promotion to the top flight after four years in the second division and earned a stunning seventh-place finish last season. We believe we will stay up this season and set new targets for FCK with Marco Kurz at the helm."
FCK head coach Marco Kurz: "I enjoy this wonderful job at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Our working relationship is based on honesty, integrity and trust. We believe in the quality of our players and see good prospects for our team. We’re on a good path and have not reached the end yet. It is our aim to establish FCK in the top flight and we’re working hard to reach our aim. Therefore, I have gladly accepted the offer from 1. FC Kaiserslautern to renew early."
